Lenten Season

The season of Lent prepares us for the Resurrection. March 5 of this year is Ash Wednesday. It marks the beginning of the season of Lent, a holy season of prayer and fasting. In the liturgies of Lent, we will hear the Gospel account of Jesus going into the desert alone to pray and fast for 40 days and 40 nights.

One of the most important ways to prepare your heart and soul for Lent is to go to Confession before and during the season. It can be daunting, especially if you haven’t been in a while, but this sacrament is a never-ending place for love, mercy, and forgiveness.
