During the fall months of 2011, Father Melancon will teach our high school students. Topics will include the new English translation of the Mass, common elements found in all Catholic churches, and sacred vessels used during Mass.
Life Nights will be held on Sunday evenings after the 5:00 Youth Mass dismisses. The sessions are expected to begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. and end at approximately 7:30 p.m. The schedule follows: October 2, 9, and 16 November 6, 13 High School Retreat on November 19-20 December 4, 11, and 18 (The spring schedule will be announced at a later date.)
Note to Teens from Father Melancon: "During this time of transition, with the new wording in the parts of the Mass, it is appropriate to rediscover the importance of the Mass in our daily lives. Through explanations and demonstrations, we will see the origins of the Mass. Everyone will be challenged to participate more fully at Mass by selecting ministries. Everyone will be trained to be able to serve and read at Mass." |
