In addition, students should promptly and regularly attend all on-site classes and sessions that are provided in their age-appropriate program(s). The bulk of our K-5 religious education program is a home-study program. The registration fee covers the cost of the textbook in which the parent and child work throughout the course of the school year. In addition, we offer occasional on-site Sunday Sessions (classes) which are led by adult volunteers. These Sunday Sessions are designed to enhance the curriculum, develop a better understanding of our Catholic faith, and provide fellowship among the students as well as our adult volunteers.
In order that we can monitor the progress of our home-study program, we ask that parents complete and return each End-of-the-Unit slip to the church office. Please indicate your child's grade level next to your child's name. The slip may be mailed to or dropped off at the church office or placed in the Offertory collection (in an envelope marked to the attention of Frances, please). Your assistance in monitoring this program is greatly appreciated. |

NOTE: Our Sunday Holy Mass schedule has changed. The anticipated Holy Mass on Saturday afternoon has not been affected, but morning Holy Masses are now celebrated at 7:00, 8:30, and 11:00 on Sunday mornings. Except for Confirmation Mass on 18 April 2010, we no longer celebrate a 5:30 Holy Mass on Sunday afternoons.
Regardless of their faith denomination, all students in grades 9-12 are invited to participate in the LifeTeen program. Although the high school students will fill out contact information on registration cards at the first LifeNight of the school year (September 7, 2008), there is no registration fee!
LifeNights now begin at 5:30 on Sunday afternoons (through April). Under the guidance of the LifeTeen director, each LifeNight is led by one of several small LifeTeen core groups (adult volunteers).
In addition, the teens are invited to attend a LifeTeen weekend retreat conducted by the entire LifeTeen core group. There is a reasonable registration fee for this three-day retreat, which is usually held at an out-of-town retreat center in February. Finances should never prevent a teen from registering for the retreat. Please contact the church office or speak with our LifeTeen Director in order to discuss the need for a sponsor.
All high school students are also invited to attend the annual Steubenville Youth Conference sponsored by the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux during the month of June. Once again, several local parishioners do offer to sponsor teens in need of financial assistance with the registration, lodging, and transportation costs for the conference weekend. |

Led by a core group of approximately 15 adult volunteers, The EDGE religious education classes meet on Monday nights in the parish hall. Students in Grades 6-8 are also invited to attend a one-day retreat (TBA).
