Music Ministries

Our church parish offers a variety of options for our musically talented parishioners:

Adult Choir

Contact Person:  Ms. Clevie Thibodeaux, Director

Under the direction of Ms. Clevie, the adult choir uses a combination of traditional hymns (found in the hymnal) and choral arrangements to lead the congregation in song during the 8:30 a.m. Holy Mass on Sunday morning.  The adult choir rehearses in church from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings.  New members are always welcome!

Cantors/Organists for Sunday Masses, Weddings, and/or Funerals

Cantors:  Mr. Robert Comeaux, Mrs. Natial d'Augereau, and Mr. Korey Lavergne

Organists:  Mrs.Victoria L. Richard, Dr. Sammy Thibodeaux, and Mrs. Frances T. Toups

The vocalists and organists listed above are familiar with the music Father Melancon has approved.  Other vocalists, musicians, as well as the list of music to be used for other Masses, weddings, and funerals, must be approved by Father Melancon or the Church Parish Office staff.

Children's Choir (for Grades 1-5)

We are excited to announce our newest program and will develop our Children's Choir slowly throughout the Spring 2015.  (We hope to add Grades 6-8 next year!)  If your elementary (Grades 1-5) child is interested in joining our Children's Choir, please download the Children's Choir Interest Survey and return the bottom portion of the form to Mrs. Frances ASAP.

Youth Mass Choir

Contact Person:  Mrs. Frances T. Toups, Director

The members of our Youth Mass Choir provide a blend of contemporary Catholic, contemporary Christian, and traditional hymns for the 5:00 p.m. Holy Mass on Sunday.  To encourage the congregational singing throughout Mass, volunteers in our "laptop/projector" ministry help project lyrics on two large screens mounted to the ceiling of our church.  The Youth Mass choir rehearses in church from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday evenings.  Because of instruments, equipment, and wires, space is somewhat limited.  Interested parishioners should contact Mrs. Frances before attending a rehearsal.
