ATTENTION! Back to Regular Weekday Mass Schedule!
We have returned to our regular schedule of weekday Masses!
When it becomes necessary to send announcements, updates, and reminders to our parishioners, group text/email messages are sent through our Flocknote network. If you wish to join our Flocknote network (to receive updates and reminders directly from our church office staff and program leaders), instructions are provided here. If you need help, Mrs. Frances serves as the administrator of our Flocknote network and is always willing to assist. Call our office (937-6888) and leave a message for her!
Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel, Bishop of the Diocese of Lafayette, recently posted a message to the people on the diocesan website. View it here.
A Peek into Our Church Parish
Confessions are heard for thirty (30) minutes before each Mass. Confessions are also heard while the Blessed Sacrament is exposed for Adoration from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. Father Metrejean also hears Confessions and offers brief spiritual direction from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on every Wednesday evening during Advent and Lent. In addition, he hears Confessions while the Stations of the Cross are prayed (6:00 p.m. on Friday evenings during Lent).
Saturday: Anticipated Mass, 4:00 p.m.
Sunday (beginning January 3-4, 2015): 8:00 and 11:00 a.m.; 5:00 p.m. Youth Mass
Monday: No Mass (12:05 p.m. during Lent)
Tuesday: 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 8:00 a.m.
Thursday: 5:30 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. (5:30 p.m. instead of 8:00 a.m. during Lent)
OTHER DEVOTIONS AND EVENTS
First Wednesday Adoration and Confessions: 4:00 - 6:30 p.m. (NOTE: When sign-up sheets are available in the vestibule of the church, parishioners are encouraged to sign up after the weekend Masses to let Fr. Metrejean know that all half-hour increments are covered for Adoration.)
First Friday Adoration: 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 Noon (no First Friday Adoration during Lent)
First Saturday Mass: 9:00 a.m.
Ash Wednesday Mass and Distribution of Ashes (2016): 6:00 a.m., 12:05 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.
Holy Days of Obligation: Please refer to our parish calendar (on this website)
Lourdes Eucharistic Procession: Due to the Mardi Gras holiday events and the Super Bowl Game, our 2016 Eucharistic Procession will be held on Sunday, February 14, instead of the Sunday before the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes (February 11). Father Melancon and our local deacon(s) carry the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of Erath as we pray, meditate, sing, and remember the Immaculate Conception's apparitions to Bernadette Sibirious in Lourdes, France.
Saint Joseph Altar: In the tradition of days past, and in a continuing spirit of gratitude to Saint Joseph, on March 18-19, our church parish displays a large table of assorted edible and decorative foods. After sharing a meal with our parishioners and guests, and paying honor to Saint Joseph, we deliver food to a local food pantry.
Stations of the Cross: 6:00 p.m. on Fridays during Lent (Father Metrejean usually hears Confessions while the Stations of the Cross are being prayed)
Fasting with Father (K.C. Fish Fry Meal): 6:30 p.m. on Fridays during Lent; dine in or take out; diners listen to a brief talk by Father Metrejean.
